About Peter Kiprotich Cherus

Peter was an international top athlete for more than 10 years. Since the year 2004 he was in the management of Volare Sports, based in The Netherlands. He participated in big marathons and road races worldwide. He won important races in The Netherlands, Scotland, and Taiwan and besides that Peter was pacemaker in the Berlin marathon in 2004 and 2007, where Paul Tergat and Haile Gebrselassie broke the World Record. He was known as a steady pacemaker.

Besides a top athlete Peter was a caring human being. He had a loving family. Peter was the husband of Shilla Jepchirchir and the father of Brian Kimutai (born 8-9-2002), and the twins Erick Kipchumba and Marieke Jeptoo (born 2-1-2008). He was well known and successful, that’s why he did not only take care of his own wife and children, but the rest of his family was just as important to him. Food, clothes, medical care and school fees were mostly paid by him.
He also tried his outmost best for several upcoming athletes. He provided them with training facilities and paid rent so they could train in high altitude.
